THE MOUNTAIN
Crested Butte Mountain is an awe-inspiring 12,160 feet above sea level. At the ski
area’s base, the elevation is at 9,300 feet. Crested Butte boasts 15 lifts serving the
1,547 acres of skiable terrain. Offering 165 different runs. It has something for everyone.
14% beginner (Green Runs), 24% Intermediate (Blue Runs) and 25% Advanced, 37%
Expert runs. The longest run of 2.6 miles is Peak to Treasury. The average snowfall
per year is an impressive 236 inches with snowmaking over 282 acres. Wanting to try a
little extreme skiing? Crested Butte has attracted the US Extreme Skiing
Championships and the X Games due to having a large amount of extreme skiing
terrain. Located off the beaten path, Crested Butte is known for some of the best lift-
served extreme terrain and mountain biking in the nation.
