THE SKIING

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort opened in 1966 and, according to "SKI" magazine's 2017 survey of the "Best in the West", "the place has really grown up."

In the 2022-2023 ski season they had 595 inches of snow.

In addition to steep chutes, wide-open powder fields, and some of the most famous backcountry skiing in the United States (Cody Peak, Cody Bowl), Jackson Hole also offers a number of exceptionally wide groomers, and a cat track network that allows strong intermediates to see much of the mountain.

Intermediates will find a wealth of blue terrain accessed by the Bridger Gondola, the Casper quad lift, the Marmot lift, and the Apres Vous Quad lift.

For the snowboarder try out "Dicks' Ditch - one of the longest run bank slaloms in snowboarding.

Also, skiers/boarders check out the four "Burton Stash Parks" scattered all over the mountain mixing up natural terrain features, local wood, and all the creative elements the mountain has to offer.

The resort is made up of two mountains:

THE TOWN / VILLAGES

At 2.9 square miles, the town of Jackson may be small in size, but not in personality. It exudes a genuine "last of the Old West" atmosphere, that's both cowboy and cosmopolitan.

Upon entering downtown Jackson, one is immediately attracted to Town Square and its many unique shops.

Framed by four large elk-antler arches, Town Square is the picturesque centerpiece of Jackson, serving as the focal point for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

The distinctive arches, made from hundreds of elk antlers, draw the attention of throngs of visitors. During the winter, when the arches and trees are blanketed with snow and decorated with lights, Town Square takes on a beautiful, festive atmosphere.

Nightlife highlights include the famed Million Dollar Cowboy Bar (featured in a handful of Hollywood western movies), and the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill, both in Jackson.
