TSC Final Showdown!!!

It really is Mammoth (big)

Ski in/out Condos

Situated in Eastern California near the world famous Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Mountain really is, well, Mammoth! A mammoth vertical drop, huge snowfall and the sheer size of the resort all add up to make this one of the best (and biggest!) ski resorts in California and indeed the US.

The Skiing:
The terrain at Mammoth is huge with over 3,500 acres  with 163 trails of skiing and snowboarding, making it one of the largest ski resorts in California. Rising to the summit of 11,053' there is an extensive system of 25 lifts to whisk you up the mountain that includes 9 high speed quads, 2 high speed six-packs, and 3 high speed gondolas.

Check out this video of a skier making a run down Chair 12.

Mammoth has a great mix of terrain; novices are catered for with 25% of trails, whilst intermediates have 40% of the terrain. Towards the top of the mountain the runs tend to get steeper, and advanced and expert skiers are rewarded with steep chutes, mogul runs, bowls and glades. The mountain statistics are 20% advanced and 15% expert (double blacks).

Mammoth receives over 400 inches of California snow every season. Coupled with this massive snowfall, Mammoth also receives a whopping 300+ days of sunshine a year, so if it’s not dumping, you’ll no doubt be enjoying the beautiful California sun. Mammoth also has plenty of snow-making across 46 trails in case the storms do not roll in while you’re there. Mammoth is located on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, which affords some protection from the wet snow storms that roll in from the west coast.

Mammoth is the highest of the California ski resorts with a top elevation of 11,053'., and base elevation is still a very high 7,953 ft., so this is also a plus for the snow quality. The high elevation also allows for fantastic sweeping views for 100s of miles across the Eastern Sierras. Talk about a stunning view of the Sierra check out this shot from the Panorama Gondola!
You can also enjoy lunch with panoramic views at the Eleven53 Café

They have activities besides skiing - snowmobiling to back-country tours & clinics & Wolly's Tube Park & Snow Play.

Ski in/Out Condos:
We will be staying at the Juniper Springs Resort in 2-bedroom, 2-bath condos located next to the Eagle lift, lodge and equipment rental. Juniper Springs has nicely appointed condos, a ski locker room on the ground floor, heated pool and outdoor hot tub. It is a 4-story building with elevators. The town shuttles stop at the front door of the main building and they have their own on-demand bus.

The Town:

Mammoth Lakes is a town of about 8,000 people. The 85 restaurants and bars offer a wide variety of cuisine. The town center is only a couple of miles from our condos and there is an excellent free shuttle bus system to get you where you want to go.

The town has an excellent free shuttle system and our condos offer an on-demand bus to take people to town or other nearby attractions.
Transportation:

The air transportation is flying to Reno and then busing for 3 hours to Mammoth Lakes. We'll make a stop for groceries and refreshments on the way.

They have an app for iPhone & Android - so check it out.
