We are excited to offer for the first time in a number of years a trip to the Wasatch Mountains where you'll find an amazing playground at Snowbird Ski Resort. They are known around the world for the abundance of light dry Wasatch powder that falls, with an amazing average annual snowfall of 500 inches! Utah is proud to claim of having the “Greatest Snow on Earth” is arguably really true at Snowbird. The quality of the powder is enhanced due to the high elevation.
The Skiing: Statistics for the Snowbird ski resort look like this - 3,240 feet of vertical, 2,500 acres of skiing terrain, 169 runs serviced by 13 lifts, one of which is the famous Snowbird tram. Accordingly, the trail breakdown is 27% beginner, 38% intermediate and 35% advanced/expert. However the statistics aren't enough to describe how good the Snowbird skiing terrain is for experienced riders. Famous for deep powder and steep chutes, bowls and trees, Snowbird Utah is a dream ski vacation destination. Snowbird is generally though for the more experienced skier.
runs such as Tiger Tail to the skiers’ left of the Gad 2 chair provides more of a "back country-type" experience. Mineral Basin is on the backside of the mountain and is a bit “gentler” than the front-side. It faces south - so it’s a good place for some sun baking. The terrain is wide open with very few trees and there is an abundance of powder.
The Town:
The pedestrian village of Snowbird, UT is not really a village in the truest sense. There’s no “main street” where you can stroll and visit the shops, restaurants and bars. The village is made up of several concrete avalanche-proof buildings as opposed to most Alta buildings, which are
